Elevated Psychological Services offers a range of school admissions testing and readiness evaluations, including kindergarten readiness assessments, AIG testing, early admission to kindergarten testing (see FAQs about this type of testing here), Metrolina Regional Scholars' Academy (MRSA) admissions testing (see FAQ about this type of testing here), and gifted and talented evaluations.

Frequently Asked Questions about MRSA Testing
Testing for giftedness (Metrolina Regional Scholar’s Academy):
Elevated Psychological Services (Dr. Deedee Russell and Dr. Melissa Marin) have extensive knowledge about intellectual giftedness and the program at MRSA. MRSA is a charter school for highly gifted children. An IQ test is required to apply for Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy (MRSA offers group testing free of charge). Scores that are 2 or 3 standard deviations above the mean are considered for admission (*admission decisions are made by the school). It is the parent’s responsibility to understand all application requirements for MRSA and understand the purpose of their program.
EPS currently administers the WPPSI-IV for pre-school age children (Children ages 4-5) and the WISC-V for ages 6 and up. Test administration time ranges from 1-2 hours. The cost for an IQ test for school admission is $385 (venmo or zelle preferred, cash and check accepted). Testing for school purposes is not covered by insurance. This cost is all-inclusive (includes test administration, scoring, report writing and a brief follow up call. Once scores are shared with the parent, parents can decide if they would like to apply to the school and then the report is emailed (this is the school’s requirement). SCHEDULING & AVAILABILITY
Online Booking: We utilize a streamlined online scheduling system for IQ testing. To book an appointment, please scroll to the bottom of the School Admissions page and click the Schedule MRSA Testing button.
Booking Window: The deadline for Scholars this year is very early! December 4th is when all applications and reports are due. We will test through Thanksgiving with a cut off of Dec 1st. We provide reports quickly, usually within days.
Other Testing Needs: If you require IQ or Achievement testing for a school other than Scholars Academy, or for another clinical purpose, please email us at info@elevatedpsychologicalservices.com. Note: We respond much faster to email inquiries than to phone calls.
Several slots including weekend options are available to accommodate busy families who want their children tested for MRSA applications. These slots are limited. Below are the steps to take advantage of these appointments.
Click on the Schedule MRSA Testing button and choose the time and therapist (Dr. Deedee Russell or Dr. Melissa Marin).
You will be asked for a $50 deposit to secure your appointment slot. The deposit is non-refundable if you decide not to test or no-show the appointment. (Should an emergency arise or your child gets sick, please contact to re-schedule and not lose your deposit). Zelle or venmo are preferred for the deposit. Please ask for other options if you do not have zelle or venmo.
