Assessments for Children

Unlock Your Child’s Potential with a Comprehensive Evaluation

As a parent, you want your child to thrive. But sometimes challenges with learning, behavior, or emotions can make that feel out of reach. Without proper evaluation, your child may continue to struggle academically, socially, or emotionally.

Early intervention can make all the difference.

At Elevated Psychological Services, we specialize in comprehensive psychological evaluations for children. These are often called psycho-educational evaluations and can be helpful for identifying academic needs and school placements. With experience in both school and clinical settings, our clinicians are here to help you gain clarity, find answers, and identify the right path forward for your child.

What We Assess

A comprehensive evaluation provides a deeper understanding of your child’s strengths and challenges, helping you make informed decisions about support at home and at school. Evaluations can also support school accommodations (IEPs, 504 plans) and standardized testing accommodations (e.g., SAT, ACT, GRE).

We work with school-aged children who may be experiencing challenges or showing differentiation in areas including:

  • Reading
Such as difficulty with sounding out words, reading fluently, or understanding what’s read

  • Writing
Including spelling, organizing thoughts, and expressing ideas clearly in writing

  • Mathematics
Difficulty with basic math skills, fluency, or problem-solving

  • Attention and executive functioning
Focus, impulsivity, organization, planning, and completing tasks

  • Emotional and behavioral functioning
Anxiety, frustration, coping with stress, or challenges with behavior and peer relationships

  • Processing speed and memory
How quickly your child takes in and uses information, and how well they retain it

  • Giftedness and advanced learning profiles
Identifying strengths and supporting appropriate academic placement or enrichment
